There has not been a significant case of Government expropriate of land from foreign owner(s) and this makes Guatemala a safe haven for your investment dollars. When making your investment choice, like with any investment in any country, qualify your investment with a top notch lawyer. Ask around to 3 or 4 major investors here in Antigua, Guatemala who they trust for Notary’s or Attorney’s or else contact your local embassy. This is your first best step.
